Local music acts prove popular and promote Banbury music scene

Banbury’s first ever music festival took place with crowds enjoying five local bands.
Banbury Town Council organised the event along with Banbury FM, who booked the live acts. The line-up included the SKAlectrics, Dave Arrowsmith Band, Neva Mynd, Til Dawn, and Uninvited. Refreshment stalls provided snacks and drinks.
Banbury Mayor Shaida Hussain said: “It was a great night. There was a fantastic turnout of people – young and old – and everyone, me included, had a really good time. Everywhere I went, people were moving to the music and the expressions on their faces told me they were having fun.
“I think the success of this event means the council will almost certainly organise something similar next year.”
The bands were booked by Banbury FM’s Bob Dainty. He said: “The music mix was just about right, and I think we had the right bands for the right event.”
