Fairport Convention will celebrate their 50th anniversary at the 2018 Cropredy music festival, and will play two sets during the three day festival
Their first set will be acoustic, and is set to kick off the festival next Thursday (9 August), with the second headlining set to be played on Saturday as the final act.
Friday’s headline act will be The Levellers who are celebrating their 30th anniversary year and making a welcome return to Cropredy. This legendary folkrock powerhouse are winners of the prestigious ‘Festival Feel-Good Act’ award.
On Saturday, Cropredy will present Scottish singer-songwriter Al Stewart. Al’s stage show is characterised by fine musicianship, beautifully crafted songs and an intimate rapport with his audience. Singer-songwriter Fish is making his second appearance at Cropredy. Well known as former frontman of Marillion, Fish is one of Scotland’s greatest rock voices.
Award-winning band Le Vent du Nord performs traditional Québécois music and contemporary material with infectious enthusiasm. Following a BBC folk award that remembered the artist Nick Drake, The Radio 2 Folk Award winner Sam Kelly and Radio 2 Young Folk Award winner will both play sets.
